Computerized ADHD & Cognitive Testing
-
Northbound Psychiatry offers computerized assessments for individuals experiencing concerns related to attention, impulsivity, memory, processing speed, executive functioning, or other cognitive changes.
Testing may be completed as part of a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation or requested as a standalone service. Standalone computerized ADHD and cognitive testing is primarily offered on a private-pay basis. If you would like to use your insurance, we are happy to verify your benefits to determine whether your plan may provide coverage for testing. Because insurance coverage for computerized assessments varies between plans and may require additional review or authorization, coverage cannot be guaranteed.
All testing results are reviewed and interpreted by a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and are considered alongside your medical history, clinical interview, symptom rating scales, and other relevant information. Computerized testing provides valuable objective data but is used as one component of a comprehensive evaluation rather than as a standalone diagnostic tool.

QbCheck is a computerized assessment that provides objective information about the core symptoms commonly associated with ADHD:
Attention
Impulsivity
Activity level and movement
During the assessment, you complete a structured computer task while your responses and movement are measured. The test generally takes approximately 15–20 minutes and may be completed remotely using a compatible computer and webcam.
-
BrainCheck is a computerized cognitive assessment platform used to evaluate areas of thinking and brain functioning, including:
Memory
Attention and concentration
Processing speed
Executive functioning
Mental flexibility
Visual-motor functioning
The results can help identify patterns of cognitive strengths and weaknesses and provide a baseline for monitoring changes over time.
BrainCheck may be appropriate for individuals experiencing:
Increasing forgetfulness
Difficulty concentrating or organizing thoughts
Changes in processing speed
Problems completing familiar tasks
Concerns about mild cognitive impairment
Cognitive changes associated with aging, medical conditions, medications, or mental health symptoms
A desire to establish a baseline and monitor cognition over time
BrainCheck is a screening and assessment tool. It does not independently diagnose dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or another neurological condition. Depending on the findings, you may be advised to follow up with your primary care provider, neurologist, neuropsychologist, or another specialist.
-
You do not need to establish ongoing medication management to request computerized ADHD or cognitive testing.
Standalone testing is primarily offered as a private-pay service. If you would like to use your insurance, we are happy to verify your benefits to determine whether your plan may provide coverage for computerized testing. Because coverage varies between insurance plans and may require additional review or prior authorization, insurance reimbursement cannot be guaranteed.
Standalone testing typically includes:
A brief consultation to discuss your concerns and determine the most appropriate assessment
Administration of QbCheck or BrainCheck, as clinically indicated
Professional interpretation of your results
A follow-up appointment to review your results, answer questions, and discuss recommendations
A written summary of findings, when included with the selected service
If your results suggest that additional evaluation or treatment would be beneficial, recommendations for follow-up care or referral to the appropriate specialist will be provided.
